
The Emmanuel Rescue Home was founded in 2001 to provide a home to 40 former street children.
There are 250,000 children living on the streets of Kenya. They are exposed to all types of abuse and criminal activity and are at great risk of infectious disease. Most of them are AIDS orphans, others have fled extreme poverty.
Emmanuel Center provides such children with a home and a chance a brighter future. The Rescue Center integrates the following components to ensure the children receiving loving and holistic care:
Primary and secondary schooling
Vocational or college training
Nutritious meals
Home-based care for those who are HIV positive
HIV/AIDS education
Drug rehabilitation
Counseling
Family support for reintegration
Sports and recreation opportunities
